Hi, and thanks so much for visiting my site. In the coming weeks and months, I plan to start writing and publishing some analyses of airline network strategy in the U.S.
While there are no bounds to what I might write about, my work will be focused around my home airport, PVD (T.F. Green International Airport in Providence, R.I.) Some upcoming things I'm planning on researching include potentially profitable new nonstop routes out of PVD and how the introduction of the A220 to the U.S. aviation market will benefit mid-sized airports like T.F. Green.
Before I publish anything, though, I hope to make two things clear:
- I'm going to do my best to write in a straightforward, jargon-free way that will hopefully make what I write accessible to everyone, me included! I think commercial aviation is a really cool topic that should be accessible to everyone.
- I'm only a college student, and I have no real experience in network strategy or planning. So I'm going into this with the understanding that I will make some mistakes or overlook key details, and I hope to hear your thoughts if you think I've overlooked something, large or small. This is primarily a learning experience for me that will both help me gain familiarity with how network planners think, but also help me improve my technical skills like SQL, Tableau, etc.
So that's all for now! There will be lots more to come in the next few weeks, and as always, please reach out or comment with any thoughts you may have.
